So this is a quick post, and I know I should give a longer one; but I’ll post again soon I promise (within the first week of January, and it will be more substantial)–until then:
It’s almost New Year’s.
2011 has been good in a lot of ways; I graduated, I found a job, my sister started college; there has been a lot of good; but still I think that when I finally say Happy New Year! it’s going to be with a sigh of relief.
2011 has been hard for a lot of people I know, myself included. For me part of it is transitioning out of college, but still knowing that I’ll be going back to grad school; and I think that the “transition” issue has been a big one for a lot of people as well. Apart from that though, there have been a surprising number of deaths in 2011, and I am really looking forward to starting a New Year with a blank slate experience wise–even if it does mean I’ll be 23 (which isn’t actually that old).
I’m also probably going to start taking Chantix, which is this new(ish) anti-smoking prescription–ironically from Pfizer, which also makes Parliments; so that’s quite a racket. But after 3 years I think I am done. In some ways seeing so many people I love and care about pass away, and also seeing my friends deal with their own losses, has really hammered home how stupid smoking is.
It’s still scary though.
So, 2012, here’s to you!
Be careful with Chantix! My uncle used it and yeah he quick smoking but he was a complete a-hole for 6 months!

Thanks! Yeah, I’m a little concerned; but hopefully it will work?
